Another Marine from Camp Pendleton has died while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced.
The death of Lance Cpl. Michael G. Plank, 25, of Cameron Mills, N.Y., is the fifth fatality this week of Marines from Camp Pendleton deployed to Helmand province.
He was assigned to the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, part of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. His death Wednesday is under investigation.
